Protocol Infrastructure Engineer (San Francisco or Remote)

Cryptocurrency is a domain where correctness really counts. As such, a cornerstone of our approach is a focus on building reliable software through the use of statically-typed functional programming languages. This is reflected in our OCaml codebase and style of structuring code around DSLs. Additionally, rigorous security practices, thorough testing, and rock-solid infrastructure are of paramount importance.

We're seeking a seasoned engineer who is capable and experienced in designing and implementing large and intricate projects, especially with those in complex domains. You will drive, architect, and develop on a bunch of exciting projects including:

  • Improving the performance of various aspects of our protocol (for example increasing the total number of accounts in the system).
  • Improving automation, observability, and other infrastructure to help our team iterate faster and deliver a more complete project.
  • Adding new features to our protocol (for example; on-chain dynamic block rewards to target a given inflation rate).

There is no need to have prior experience in cryptography. The ideal candidate will be motivated and excited to engage in greenfield projects and will have interest or experience in any of the following:

  • Functional programming
  • Kubernetes
  • Security
  • Distributed systems
  • Cryptocurrency
  • Terraform
  • Docker

Bonus (but not required):

  • Experience in OCaml or other functional programming languages
  • Experience working with Kubernetes or other similar container orchestration systems. Comfortable with at least one of the major cloud providers AWS/Gcloud/Azure
